Shingle Inn Goes GourmetShingle Inn's widely popular Patty Cake range has gone gourmet with the launch this week of Gourmet Patty Cakes, an 'injected' range of treats that extend beyond the iconic bakery café's traditional range. Shingle Inn's Area Manager Karen Milne, who has been responsible for the introduction of the range which includes five new flavours, says the new range has been a hit during the testing phase in-store. "The Gourmet Patty Cakes have been injected with delicious fillings that add to the flavour of the Patty Cake and combine with the cake as customer's bite into them, providing a whole new delicious experience," says Mrs Milne. "We've had two trials in-store and they've been selling exceptionally well." That's no mean feat considering the popularly of Shingle Inn's traditional range. In 2005, the bakery café celebrated the sale of its ten millionth traditional Patty Cake and with two further stores opened since then; the eleven millionth milestone is within reach by the end of this year. "Patty Cakes are our most popular product for customers to enjoy with their pot of tea or cup of coffee," says Mrs Milne, "and we're very proud to have created a new version in-keeping with the home-baked-style products Shingle Inn is renowned for." The new Gourmet Patty Cake range includes Lemon Meringue, Choc Cherry, Choc Hazelnut, Caramel & Pecan and Jam & Coconut. Gourmet Patty Cakes are $3.40 each.
