Coordinated cakes a Melbourne Cup winner

Queensland's favourite Patty Cakes, Shingle Inn's most popular product, will be adorned with refreshing spring tones of ice blue, lavender, mint green and lemon ensuring you will not only be enjoying the delicious treat but can also colour coordinate your events this racing season.

Shingle Inn Area Manager Karen Milne says the array of colours was inspired by the grounds at Flemington. "Our display cabinets will reflect the beautiful floral Flemington gardens this year," says Ms Milne.

Shingle Inn actively participates in Melbourne Cup each year, creating delicious treats that can be added to the most sophisticated or basic Cup day celebrations.

Ms Milne says the success of last year's Racing Cake means the single layer buttercake will appear again in this year's line up, "colour coordinated, of course!"

"Our delicious buttercakes will again be adorned with three horses racing to the finish line albeit in 2008 season colours," says Ms Milne.

"So many people use the 'race that stops the nation' as an excuse to get together for lunch with friends or work colleagues and our delicous treats are not only a perfect end to a champagne lunch but in-keeping with the spirit of the day!"
