Karen Milne

Karen is responsible for overseeing the operational management of all Shingle Inn cafés. As such, her hands-on role as Area Manager comprises a broad mix of core responsibilities, including human resources, system compliance, product innovation, financial review, training and mentoring, marketing implementation, network communication and relationship management. In addition, Karen's role encompasses the critical coordination of the retail sites with the Bakery Production facility to ensure the consistent and smooth supply of product into stores.

Karen's extensive retail and managerial experience has been developed over a 30 year career, spanning a diverse range of industries. The foundation of her expertise in retail was formed over several years with Myer Pty Ltd, one of Australia's leading retailers, in the position of Senior Retail Manager. Her experience also extends to the international retail environment through her four year ownership of a successful fashion label and subsequent management of a tourism business servicing a diverse international clientele.

With more than six years experience as a key driving force behind the Shingle Inn business, Karen's unique understanding of the product mix and operational challenges combined with her passionate approach to people, both staff and customers, ensures the continuing strength of Shingle Inn's brand.
