Just like the real, infinitely more expensive and non-edible variety, Shingle Inn’s Mother’s Day edible diamond Patty Cakes will be a rare and wonderful gift for Brisbane Mums on Sunday May 11.
In keeping with the rarity of this beautiful gem, Shingle Inn will make just 57 diamond-topped Patty Cakes to be sold across their seven stores only on Mother’s Day.
“The diamond-topped Patty Cake will be a very special gift,” says Area Manager Karen Milne. “There’s no sense in being small about it when it comes to diamonds so we’ve ordered the largest edible diamond we could find. It’s roughly the equivalent of three carats.”
Karen says that although, like the precious stone, they’re scarcity means they won’t be available to everyone there’ll also be a wide range of popular Mother’s Day gifts available including a white choc mud Patty Cake that was extremely popular last year, beautifully packaged Shingle Inn shortbread gift packs, pink tin pots with pink Patty Cakes and Shingle Inn’s popular Single Layer Cakes in passionfruit and chocolate.
“We’ve got a beautiful hearts and roses theme this year,” says Mrs Milne, “so many of our products are pink or red with hearts and roses as decorations; something we think mum’s will love.”
Karen says the surprise seller last year was another Shingle Inn favourite Lemon Meringue Pie which she expects to again be popular this year.
“We also have a wonderful new Family High Tea that will start in April and continue through to Mother’s Day, giving families a reason to spend memorable time together regardless of any special date on the calendar.”
Mother’s Day products will start to arrive in-store from 29 April, except for the diamond-topped Patty Cakes which will only be available on Mother’s Day.
