We believe that a supportive community can truly make a difference. That’s why we invite you to join our upcoming Community Coffee Events – a series of warm, welcoming gatherings designed to bring people together and raise funds for the Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles.

Hosted at select Shingle Inn locations, each Community Coffee Event is a chance to connect with neighbours, chat with Nine News personalities and enjoy a complimentary small coffee (or tea)*. More importantly, it’s an opportunity to raise critical funds, ensuring all babies at Mater have the best possible start to life.

Your support will continue to drive world leading research collaborations and deliver an enormous impact to improve the care of premature and critically ill babies. These funds go directly to supporting life-saving research, advanced medical treatments and specialised equipment for babies at Mater Hospitals.

These simple gestures transform everyday treats into acts of kindness:

  1. $1 from each Heart Biscuit sold is donated to Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles.
  2. Next time you order your favourite beverage, choose to make it a “Community Coffee” and add $1 (donation) to your bill.

By bringing in unwrapped gifts or toys to any Shingle Inn café, you can brighten the festive season for families in need. Your generosity will help provide much-needed support and joy to those rebuilding their lives.

To ensure your donations are as impactful as possible, here are some gift ideas inspired by RizeUp’s recommendations:

  • Babies and toddlers (0-3 years): soft toys and teddy bears, educational toys, baby clothing and accessories, board books
  • Children (4-12 years): arts and crafts sets, lego and building blocks, puzzles and board games, sporting equipment

2024 Barista of the Year Finals

This year’s Barista of the Year (BOTY) Finals was a shining example of our Barista’s creativity and commitment to quality coffee, that impressed both the judges and attendees. Held at the beautiful Sirromet Winery’s Barrel Hall, the competition was a true celebration of coffee artistry.

Meet the finalists and their creations!

Each of our four finalists brought something special to the table. Let’s take a closer look at the standout drinks from this year’s competition:

  • Rem created a delightful tribute to our Biscoff Cheesecake (available for a limited time only), blending cinnamon and caramel, with a sprinkle of chocolate flakes. This delicious combination left the judges craving more.
  • Hannah brought the sunshine with her drink titled “This Moment.” A refreshing mix of homemade plum syrup and lemon iced tea, topped with a swirl of cream and bright lemon zest, it offered a sweet, tangy twist.
  • Jess wowed everyone with her Pink Turkish Delight Latte, inspired by the classic Middle Eastern confection. With its vibrant pink colour and sweetness, this latte was both a visual and delicious – catching everyone’s attention.
  • Kristy’s drink was a rich and indulgent Peanut Brittle Latte, topped with whipped cream and a crunchy sprinkle of peanuts. It was the perfect blend of sweet, salty, and nutty flavours. Her attention to detail and commitment to quality coffee made her drinks stand out and ultimately led to her well-deserved win!

 

 

 

 

 

 

And the winner is…

Kristy from North Lakes!! In addition to the well-earned title, Kristy received a Breville Coffee Machine valued at $849 and an exciting trip to Melbourne for a private roastery tour.
